Healthcare
At the end of 2025, there were 762 medical and health institutions in actual operation in Huadu District, including: 19 hospital institutions, 735 primary-level medical and health care institutions (including 19 community health centers and rural hospitals, 198 village health clinics and community health stations, 131 outpatient departments and nurse stations, 387 clinics and infirmaries), 3 public health institutions, and 5 other institutions.
Healthcare work force and hospital beds: In 2025, the District reported 11579 healthcare technicians, 4543 practicing (assistant) physicians, 794 general practitioners, 5268 nurses, 5923 permitted beds and 5048 available beds. (See the table below for details)
Based on the 1.7506 million permanent residents of the District in 2024 as released by the Statistics Bureau, there were 6.61 health technicians, 2.60 doctors, 0.52 TCM doctors 3.01 nurses and 0.454 general practitioners for every 1,000 permanent residents; and every 1,000 permanent residents had 2.88 hospital beds, with a doctor to nurse ratio of 1:1.16. 85.23% of permitted beds of the District were utilized.
Of the healthcare technicians of the District, practicing (assistant) physicians accounted for 39.23%, and nurses for 45.50%; and 45.81% of the practicing (assistant) physicians worked in hospitals, and 51.99% in primary-level medical and health care institutions.
