Guangzhou Folk Museum(Ancestral Temple of the Advisory Senior Official) has a long history of over 150 years, built in the second year of Emperor Tongzhi(year 1863) in Qing Dynasty. In fact,what we see now is "Ancient Architectural Complex of Ancestral Temple of Advisory Senior Official", including Ancestral Temple of Advisory Senior Official, Nanshan Classical Academy, Ancestral Temple of Heng Zhixu and Guobi Ancestral Temple, among which, Nanshan Classical Academy is built by Xu Biaozheng, the Chief Master of the Ministry of War(in feudal China) to celebrate his father's promotion -being the Upright Senior Official (Official name in ancient times);Ancestral Temple of Heng Zhixu and Guobi Ancestral Temple are the ancestral halls for the Xu family.

　　The memorial archway is made ofbluestone of Lianzhou, supported by four pillars, forming three rooms and four floors. The outer room is designed to adopt a two-layer hip roof, and the front side ofRuyi bracket made from good eaves-stone is inscribed with "Imperial Edict" , the back side is inscribed "Glory" and the imperial edicts issued in Year ofTongzhi.
