A contract signing ceremony was recently held in Tonglu County, Hangzhou for ZTO Freight South China Headquarters. With a total investment of about 2 billion yuan, the project is expected after operation to process more than 8 million inbound parcels per day, and generate an annual output value of more than 2 billion yuan and tax revenue of more than 30 million yuan. The ceremony was attended by relevant leaders of Huadu District, ZTO Express and ZTO Freight.

ZTO Express began its South China headquarters project in Huadu District in 2016, which has generated a total of 38.7 billion yuan in revenue and nearly 500 million yuan in taxes for Huadu, and is expected to achieve record high performance in 2025.

ZTO Freight is a LTL logistics brand of ZTO committed to the integrated development of logistics, manufacturing and service industries. It adopts the flat management mode of "direct operation center + franchise outlets", and modern operating equipment, information management and national unified high standard of operating processes, to create a logistics service platform"led by science and technology, supported with data, assured by talents, and operating intelligently" . ZTO cast the "vote of confidence" once again and set up the ZTO Freight South China headquarters in Huadu, which is a testimony to the "strong attraction" of Huadu's high-quality development and injects new vitality into the win-win cooperation between the two sides.

The total area of the land planned for the project is 28.83 acres, located in Jiuyi Village, a part of the cooperative development project for the centralized resettlement of historical reserved land in 9 villages in Huashan Town. Unremitting efforts in the early stage has ensured successful completion of land acquisition compensation and land leveling of the project. The project was successfully delisted on February 28, 2025 from the rural collective asset trading platform of Huadu District, and the land is expected to be put into use in early 2026.

When the project is completed, the business of ZTO Freight Guangdong Management Center and Guangzhou Smart Operation Center will cover Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Cambodia and other places; and air transportation, cold chain transportation and others will be added to the business portfolio; and at the same time, the smart cloud warehouse business will be actively developed in combination with smart logistics.

The formal contract signing for the settlement of this project helps solve the inherited land use issues of 9 villages in Huashan Town that have been in existence for many years in four ways: firstly it contributes to the local economy; secondly, it can increase the income of villagers; thirdly, it helps implement the land quota allocated for village collectives' retained development areas; and fourthly, it also brings high-quality industries to the villages.
