On May 2, taking advantage of the trade momentum of the 139^thCanton Fair that attracts buyers from all corners of the world, the 2026 Canton Fair Spring Conference of Supply and Procurement Matchmaking for Huadu Luggage and Leather Goods was held at Guangzhou College of Technology and Business. A total of 53 high-quality overseas buyers were attracted to the intelligent manufacturing heartland of the "Leather Goods Capital of China" to have precise and in-depth docking with 52 local high-quality enterprises in Huadu. This event generated over US$38.75 million in intended purchase amount. The event was undertaken by Guangdong Qiya Exhibition Co., Ltd, co-sponsored by the Huadu District Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Huadu District Bureau of Commerce, and the People's Government of Shiling Town, and guided by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, It has become another benchmark example of Huadu District’s taking advantage of the super traffic of the Canton Fair to promote the quality and efficiency of foreign trade.

As the "No. 1 exhibition of China's foreign trade", the Canton Fair brings together tens of thousands of global buyers to Guangzhou every year. In order to convert the buyer traffic of the exhibition into the retained development sources of the Huadu luggage and leather goods industry, the relevant departments of Huadu District government actively planned and coordinated to provide direct bus service from the Canton Fair complex to the factories. The 52 high-quality enterprises selected by Huadu for the event covered the whole industry chain of luggage and leather goods, including not only intelligent production benchmark factories, but also cutting-edge enterprises with original designs, and they sufficiently demonstrated the hard-core strength of "Huadu Intelligent Manufacturing" in an all-round way. And the 53 high-quality buyers from the Canton Fair were from international trade markets such as Malaysia, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Russia, Tajikistan, India, Pakistan, and Morocco.

Unlike previous years, this year's event established an innovative two-way matching database for supply and demand. The organizer sorted out the needs of the buyers in advance and precisely matched 4 to 5 suitable enterprises for each buyer in the light of three dimensions: export region, product category, and purchase volume. One-on-one negotiation and appointment channels were also opened in advance. It greatly improved the docking efficiency and deal closure rate.

Taking place at the same time was a credit facility signing ceremony. Shiling Town introduced the background and overall development plan of the "Credit + Shiling Leather Goods Regional Brands" project, and held a signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement between the Industry and Research Center and two new banks, with the aim to provide low-threshold, high-volume, and low-cost financing support for enterprises in its region, laying a solid financial foundation for enterprises to take large-scale overseas orders.
