On May 1, the third phase of the 133rd Canton Fair began; and for the first time Huadu Market Purchase Trade Service Center had a special exhibition area of 207 square meters for Guangzhou Huadu National-level Market Purchase Trade Pilot Project Exhibition Zone, dedicated to publicity and promotion of market purchase trade policies, in order to make more enterprises understand and participate in market purchase trade to explore convenient channels for the export of small commodities of the District. 18 passionate suppliers and related enterprises engaged in market purchase trade in Huadu appeared in the exhibition zone to welcome visitors from all corners of the world and explore the global market.

　　The booth of Guangzhou Baobo Leather Co., Ltd in the exhibition hall attracted a large flow of people, including many merchants who showed strong interest. The company’s person in charge said: "Baobo Leather is committed to making high-quality leather, and continuous R&D and new designs; and we set higher priority to large and medium-sized customers. We timely adapt ourselves to the ever changing external market, and take the initiative to find merchants of higher value-added. ”

Its first experience with Canton Fair yielded well; not long after the Fair began, it secured a foreign trade order for export to Europe. The person in charge of the company was excited, saying that their original plan for their first participation in the Canton Fair was just to show the company's products in the market purchase exhibition zone area, and an order was totally unexpected.

Orders obtained at the Canton Fair can be seen as one of the main sources of growth of Huadu District’s producer-exporter enterprises against headwinds. The market purchase trade pilot project exhibition zone was located at a conspicuous place in the Canton Fair, which helped better display the industrial clusters and location advantages of the pilot project of Huadu, supporting Huadu enterprises to find more international trade opportunities in a larger scope and at a deeper level, and promoting the stable growth of Huadu's foreign trade.

　　In recent years, Huadu District has actively promoted the construction and development of business forms of foreign trade, with market purchase trade as a main lever. The District is actively carrying out a pilot project of national market purchase trade to explore new development models and new business forms of foreign trade.

　　Since the official launch of the pilot project of market purchase trade in March 2017, Huadu has witnessed a new round of rapid development of foreign trade. Huadu suppliers in the pilot project have achieved over 120 billion US dollars in export through the mode of market purchase trade, including over 60 billion US dollars to countries along the "Belt and Road". The pilot project has sent a total of 500,000 tons of goods by airway, with a cargo value of more than 21 billion US dollars, which contributes to the growth of cargo throughput of Baiyun Airport; and meanwhile a cumulated number of over 1.6 million standard freight containers has been sent by the pilot project, which has become a main source for routes from Nansha Port to Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and secured Huadu a high place among pilot projects in the country.
