With the rapid development of science and technology, the future airport industry will be no longer limited to an altitude of tens of thousands of meters. Low-altitude economy, a "hot word" in this spring, appeares for the first time in the government work report of the State Council. This highlighted the important role of strategic emerging industries represented by low-altitude economy in creating new quality productivity and promoting high-quality economic development.

As a strategic emerging industry, low-altitude economy not only includes traditional general aviation formats, but also integrates low-altitude production service modes supported by UAVs. It has obvious features of new quality productivity and a very broad development space. In this context, Huadu District races for the new and grabs the new opportunity for low-altitude economy.

At the event site, the Huadu District government signed 45 key investment projects with a total investment of nearly 75 billion yuan. These projects involve China Aviation Supplies Group Corporation, HuaGong-Linglong Tire, Benewake Lidar, Valeo, Feidun, and Haiyi General Aviation Operations Base cte., and cover a range of sectors, including low-altitude economy and modern logistics, automobiles and intelligent equipment, new energy and new materials, digital economy, and air-rail integration industries. Ten of them are low-altitude economic projects. This shows that low-altitude economic industry is developing strongly in Huadu District.

Hub advantage. As the location of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area large air and rail hub, Huadu is the first stop for the external world to reach Guangzhou. It is a veritable window of the world and the closest hub living room to the external world. Recently, the Guangzhou Northern Growth Pole (including Airport Economic Zone) Industrial Development Plan (2023-2035) and the Airport and Surrounding Areas (Northern Growth Pole) Coordinated Development Plan have been successively released. This means that Huadu District has taken a step towards the goal of becoming a comprehensive gateway to northern Guangzhou and a reception hall.

Industrial advantage. Huadu Automobile Mall, an international automobile industry base with the largest cluster scale, the strongest parts supporting capacity and the most complete industrial chain in South China, has a mature automobile industry chain. The aircraft batteries, engines, fuselage parts, special materials for low-altitude industry can be provided by the entire industry chain of the automotive industry. The Feidun eVTOL aircraft headquarters project signed this time is collaborating with Huaxin Composite Materials Company, an automotive industry chain enterprise in Huadu District, to develop carbon fiber components for eVTOL products.

Space advantage. Huadu General Aviation Comprehensive Support Base and Low-altitude Economic Industrial Park are located near Huangshatang Village, Chini Town, west of Huadu District. This area has a large amount of undeveloped land resources, which can meet the future development needs of low-altitude industry. In addition, the area has good clearance conditions, about 20 kilometers away from Baiyun International Airport, which meets the requirements of the construction of a navigable airport, and there is no tall mountain blocking the surrounding area, and the flight conditions are good.

Platform advantage. Guangzhou Aircraft Certification Branch Center is located in the south work area of Baiyun International Airport, which is close to the General Aviation Base of Huadu District. This will greatly facilitate enterprises to carry out aircraft certification. Guangzhou Civil Aviation College, located about two kilometers away from the General Aviation Comprehensive Support Base, can provide scientific research support and talent cultivation for low-altitude industries in Huadu District.

Ecological advantage. The low-altitude industrial planning area is located in the west of the horizontal axis of the Northern Cultural and Tourism Ecological Bay in the urban layout of One District, One City, One Port, One Bay in Huadu District. Nearby, there are Zhudong Village, Maling Botanical Garden, Sankeng Reservoir and other cultural and tourism attractions. These are conducive to the integration of low-altitude economy and cultural and tourism industry, and can promote the development of aviation tourism and the construction of aviation town.

It is learnt that Huadu District is planning to build the Huadu General Aviation Comprehensive Support Base covering an area of approximately 460 mu(31 ha.) and a low altitude economic industrial park covering an area of 140 mu (9 ha.) in Chini Town. At present, Huadu District is promoting the transformation of the Wei Sixth Road next to the Low-altitude Economic and Industrial Park into a temporary test flight landing place, which will be about 700 meters long runway after transformation and can be used for eVTOL, LSA (light sport), rotorcraft, delta wing and other models, as well as flying car aircraft under development. Construction is expected to start in the near future, and it can be used by the end of May. Huadu District is also drafting low-altitude ten support policies, and planning to set up low-altitude economic industry funds to seize low-altitude economic new opportunity.

Constructing northern growth pole to build three industrial clusters with an output of several hundred billion yuan 

As the main position of the northern growth pole of Guangzhou, Huadu District has continuously optimized the demonstration area for the integrated development of air and rail in recent years, promoted the simultaneous development of traditional advantageous industries and emerging industries. It continuously cultivates and strengthens new quality productivity, optimizes the advantages of the largest air-rail dual hub in the Bay Area, and plans for the three industrial clusters with an output of several hundred billion yuan, i.e. automobiles, new energy, and aviation economy.

Huadu District has strongly supported the leading enterprise Dongfeng Nissan in accelerating transformation and upgrading, as a result, the output and output value of new energy vehicles increased by 47.8% and 83.8% respectively. The national headquarters project of China Aviation Supplies Group Corporation Smart Airport Business will carry out smart airport related business, including smart airport integrated operation platform, intelligent vehicle scheduling system, unmanned cargo trailer, forklift, small platform truck and related equipment, etc. The products developed will be promoted to airports nationwide; Feidun eVTOL Aircraft headquarters project will set up a headquarters base in Huadu to develop and produce eVTOL aircraft; Haiyi General Aviation project will set up a low-altitude flight base in Huadu District to build a flight training and flight experience center; At this annual conference, Huadu also launched to create  an automobile theme park covering an area of 5000 mu(333 ha.), including automobile brand experience center, automobile movie park, automobile museum. automobile competition, motel, creative design and other cooperation projects, the District will invite global enterprises interested in investing to help build a new business card of Guangzhou northern growth pole and international city.

In the first quarter of this year, Huadu District newly negotiated 204 projects with an investment of more than 100 million yuan (a year-on-year increase of 32.5%), and 31 projects were newly signed (a year-on-year increase of 3 times). Six projects, including Seraph 10GW PV module manufacturing project, Wanbang headquarters base project, Mona Lisa headquarters base and smart SPA bathtub production project, have obtained land by bidding.

Huadu District is moving toward the novelty and airport economic industries. While developing traditional industries, it is also developing emerging industries. Huadu is constantly breaking through itself and creating new quality productivity, and has vitality, gravity and strength to promote the northern part of Guangzhou to be the new growth pole of Guangzhou.

Since last year, 143 projects have been completed in Huadu District, with a total investment of nearly 60 billion yuan. Among them, 106 projects such as Jitu Greater Bay Area and Eqinox research, production and marketing headquarters have been started, with a total investment of nearly 40 billion yuan; Thirty-seven projects including Yuhu Cold Chain Market Trading Center, Honglitronic’s LED new backlight display phase II, and CBCITY Cosmetics R&D and production project were completed, with a total investment of nearly 20 billion yuan. It is expected that in the last three quarters of this year, 106 key projects will be completed in Huadu, with a total investment of more than 40 billion yuan. Among them, 53 projects such as the manufacturing of 10GW photovoltaic modules in Seraph and the China Huadu Airport Economic Service Port have started construction, with a total investment of more than 20 billion yuan; Dongfeng Nissan new energy production line transformation, Huadu production base of Guangdong Oriental Yuhong Building Materials Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Beijiang water diversion project (water source project), Sun Yat-sen University affiliated Renji Hospital and other 53 projects were completed, with a total investment of more than 20 billion yuan.
